Ukraine Strikes Yandex Data Centre Again as Trump Cautions Kyiv
Yandex’s data centre near Moscow was hit by a Ukrainian drone strike on Sunday, a third hit on the company’s facilities this week, forcing the Russian tech giant to suspend operations and temporarily shut down key services.
Despite no casualties, the strike damaged infrastructure in the Vladimir region east of the capital and has left search, mail, and other Yandex services unavailable for users across Russia.
Earlier this week, Yandex said that two of its five data centres had been damaged in separate drone attacks, highlighting a growing pattern of Ukrainian strikes on infrastructure that feeds Moscow’s war machine.

The latest attack came hours after former U.S. President Donald Trump urged Ukraine to stop targeting Russian oil refineries, calling for reciprocal actions and real guarantees from Moscow. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded on X, insisting that any de‑escalation steps must be mirrored and backed by commitments from Russia.
In parallel, Russian forces have continued to strike Ukraine’s southern regions, with reports of injuries and deaths reported by the State Emergency Service. The broader conflict sees both sides intensifying pressure on each other’s critical infrastructure as the war enters its fifth year.
