Yung Filly claims ‘good vibes’ with accuser in Perth assault court

UK hip‑hop artist Yung Filly, whose real name is Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, appeared in court at the District Court of Western Australia on Monday to give testimony regarding an alleged rapist encounter with a 20‑year‑old woman after a 2024 nightclub show in Hillarys, a Perth suburb.

In his sworn statement, the 30‑year‑old rapper said the "vibes were good" between him and the woman before the alleged assault, a claim disputed by the victim who has filed charges of sexual penetration without consent, assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation.

Barrientos detailed how she had leaned over a barrier in the general area of the concert while he moved through the VIP section, an encounter he described as “fancied” and which he claimed ended with consensual sex in his hotel room. He insists he never touched her breast or put his hand inside her pants.

"I recall putting my hand on her waist," Barrientos said. "But I did not put my hands down her pants or touch her breast," he added.

Around the same time, he said a security guard took the woman’s phone in a "standard practice" to protect privacy. Prior to the alleged violence, the pair reportedly had consensual sex; she allegedly told him to stop, according to the court transcript.

The rapper, who has a substantial following across YouTube (1.8 million subscribers), TikTok (3 million followers) and Instagram (2.4 million followers), was granted bail and allowed to fly home to the UK in September for a four‑month break before returning to Western Australia ahead of his trial.

The assault allegedly took place in September 2024 while the rapper was touring Australia.
