Ukrainian authorities have labeled an explosion that injured two police officers in Bucha as a 'terrorist act'. The incident occurred on a residential street early Monday morning, and when police arrived, a second blast followed. This led to injuries among the officers attending the scene.

A 21-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the attack. Authorities reported that he had been recruited via an online platform to carry out the bombings, with a security source revealing that the online game World of Tanks was involved.

The suspect claimed he was motivated by financial incentives, stating he was promised 25,000 hryvnias (approximately $570) for each explosion. The Ukrainian security service SBU has identified him as a 'Russian agent', but police are still working to ascertain the exact nature of his recruitment.

Subsequently, the suspect described being blackmailed, with threats directed towards his mother, asserting that those he was communicating with could 'see her from a drone'.

The injured officers sustained limb injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening. Witnesses described the first explosion as a strong disturbance, initially mistaking it for a gas explosion in an apartment.

This attack follows a series of violent incidents against law enforcement in Ukraine, including a recent explosion in Lviv that killed one officer and injured many others. The ongoing conflicts have raised significant concerns regarding public safety and security measures in the region.
