Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that the United States is calling for the ongoing war with Russia to reach a conclusion by June, with both parties invited to meet in Miami for talks next week.
America proposed for the first time that the two negotiating teams – Ukraine and Russia – meet in the United States of America, probably in Miami, in a week. We confirmed our participation, Zelensky stated.
While no immediate comments have come from Washington or Moscow, US President Donald Trump has been pushing for an end to the conflict since returning to office over a year ago.
Simultaneously, Russia continues to target Ukraine's energy infrastructure, resulting in widespread blackouts during the cold winter months. Zelensky’s assertion highlights the interplay between ongoing military aggression from Russia and the budding diplomatic dialogue initiated by the US.
The latest round of peace talks in Abu Dhabi concluded without a breakthrough, as Zelensky emphasized that difficult issues, including territorial concessions, remain unresolved.
