In a poignant evening at the Pinacoteca di Brera art gallery, stars gathered to honor the late Giorgio Armani at his final fashion show, viewing his spring/summer 2026 collection. Among the illustrious guests were Cate Blanchett, Glenn Close, and Richard Gere.
Initially designed as a celebration of 50 years of creative brilliance, this show transformed into a heartfelt tribute following Armani's passing at the age of 91 earlier this month.
Models, many of whom had walked for him over the past five decades, showcased an array of classic suits and dazzling dresses, with the collection drawing inspiration from the serenity of northern Italy and the beauty of the small volcanic island of Pantelleria, where the designer often vacationed.
The runway was adorned with lanterns reminiscent of those at Armani's public viewing, creating an intimate atmosphere for the 700 attendees. Blanchett poignantly noted, This moment, this atmosphere speaks for itself. There are a lot of memories here tonight.
The closing piece, a striking blue gown featuring Armani's face, received a standing ovation, marking not only a celebration of his legacy but also a symbolic end of an era for the fashion world. Silvana Armani, the designer's niece, and his partner Leo Dell'Orco took a bow amidst an emotional farewell.
Live piano music provided by composer Ludovico Einaudi complemented the evening, concluding a prestigious Milan Fashion Week with a seamless blend of tribute and celebration.
