Fifteen remarkable students have been chosen as part of the 2026 Rhodes Scholarship program, extending its legacy of excellence. Among those named are five from U.S. military academies and three each from leading institutions like Yale University, Harvard University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The selected scholars are committed to significant areas of study, such as housing, health outcomes, sustainability, and prison reentry programs. Notable recipients include:

- **Alice L. Hall** from Philadelphia, a varsity basketball player at MIT who serves as student body president. Hall collaborates with a women's collective in Ghana on sustainability initiatives and plans to pursue engineering.

- **Sydney E. Barta** from Arlington, Virginia, a Paralympian and member of Stanford University’s track team. Studying bioengineering and involved with the acapella group “Counterpoint,” Barta aims to delve into musculoskeletal sciences.

- **Anirvin Puttur** from Gilbert, Arizona, who is a senior at the U.S. Air Force Academy serving as an instructor pilot and flight commander. His studies in aeronautical engineering and applied mathematics pair with his proficiency in four languages and a passion for linguistics.

These scholars will further their education at the University of Oxford, part of a prestigious program that annually grants over 100 scholarships worldwide, allowing students to pursue two to three years of graduate studies.

The Rhodes Scholarship, created in 1903 and named after British imperialist Cecil John Rhodes, has fostered over 8,000 alumni engaged in government, education, arts, and social justice.}
