His sister, Maribel Espaillat, who assisted in managing the club, faces the same charges.

The attorney general's office stated that both siblings exhibited "immense irresponsibility and negligence" in failing to maintain the nightclub’s roof. Additionally, authorities reported attempts by the ownership to threaten or manipulate potential witness employees in the unfolding investigation.
