At least 30 people have been injured following a Russian drone strike on a railway station in north-east Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated.

In a post on X, he mentioned that preliminary reports indicated that both train staff and passengers were present at the site of the strike in the city of Shostka, located in the Sumy region.

Emergency services arrived promptly at the scene, initiating assistance for the injured while verifying the extent of the casualties.

Zelensky released a video depicting a train carriage engulfed in flames as a result of the strike.

The Russians could not have been unaware that they were targeting civilians. This is terrorism, which the world has no right to ignore, Zelensky remarked on X.

He added, Every day Russia takes people's lives. And only strength can make them stop. The Ukrainian leader called for immediate action from the West, insisting that the time has come to translate expressions of support from Europe and America into concrete measures.
