On Thursday, May 15, 2025, London’s Metropolitan Police announced the arrest of 21-year-old Roman Lavrynovych, a Ukrainian national, in connection with multiple arson incidents. Among the blazes were two that occurred at properties linked to Prime Minister Starmer, one of which ignited at the family home in Kentish Town, a neighborhood in north London that is currently being rented out.
The police reported that the charges against Lavrynovych include arson with the intent to endanger life. The second fire occurred at an additional property in north London, which had been previously occupied by Starmer before he assumed the role of Prime Minister.
Currently, Starmer and his family reside at the official Prime Minister's residence at 10 Downing Street. The police investigation is ongoing, and authorities have indicated that further updates from this developing story will be provided as new information comes to light.
