Ukrainian forces report that their FP‑5 Flamingo cruise missiles struck a Russian military plant in Cheboksary, the capital of the Chuvash Republic, more than 900 km from the front line.
President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the hit in a Telegram post, describing the plant as supplying components for drones and missiles used by the occupied forces. The strike produced a plume of smoke and a fire at the site.
Russian air defence units said they shot down 326 Ukrainian drones overnight, while Ukraine’s air force reported shooting down 181 of 207 drones launched by Russia—an additional 21 direct hits in 14 locations.
Three people were injured in the city, and local officials acknowledged the attack, though they did not detail damage to the plant. The Zaporizhzhia‑Moscow supply chain continues to be a focus of Ukraine’s strategic strikes.
FP‑5 missiles have a 1,150‑kg warhead and a 3,000‑km range, enabling strikes on major Russian cities including Moscow. This operation demonstrates Ukraine’s expanding capability to target deep‑inside Russia infrastructure and is part of its broader effort to pressure Moscow to negotiate.
