Two Palestinian Teens Killed in West Bank Village Attack

During a clash in al‑Mughayyir, Israeli settlers and soldiers fired on Omar al‑Nassan (19) and Khalil Abu Alia (16) as they tried to prevent the theft of sheep from their village.

The village council said the teenagers were shot while confronting the settlers. The Israeli military said troops entered the scene to protect an Israeli civilian and retrieve livestock, insisting they fired at “key instigators” of a standoff that had escalated with stone‑throwing.

The incident sits against a backdrop of growing settler violence in the occupied West Bank, with UN figures recording more than 81 Palestinian deaths since the beginning of 2026, including 23 attributed to settler attacks. Only three Israelis have been reported killed by Palestinians in the same period, but the army has faced criticism for its involvement and alleged failure to prosecute settlers.
