Israeli drone strikes on a southern Lebanese village kill 11, including children, Lebanon’s state media report.
At least eleven residents of Kfar Rumman were killed when Israeli air forces launched two attacks early after midnight. The first strike hit a three‑storey residential building, causing mass casualties, while a second strike hit a paramedics’ vehicle, taking two lives.
The Israeli military said it was investigating the claims as part of its ongoing retaliation for drone attacks allegedly launched by Hezbollah against troops operating in areas occupied by Israel.
President Joseph Aoun cautioned that the new attacks represent a dangerous escalation that jeopardises the ceasefire brokered last June between the United States and Lebanon, intended to end the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
