The US space agency NASA has rejected reality star Kim Kardashian's claim that the 1969 Moon landing was a hoax. 'Yes, we've been to the Moon before... 6 times!' wrote NASA acting administrator Sean Duffy on social media.
Kardashian made her remarks on the latest episode of her reality series, The Kardashians, where she expressed doubt over the historic lunar landing during a conversation with co-star Sarah Paulson. Despite being widely debunked, conspiracy theories questioning the Moon landing's authenticity have persisted particularly in the age of social media.
In the episode, Kardashian shares an interview with astronaut Buzz Aldrin and reads a quote that suggests doubt about the Moon landing, though the authenticity of her claims regarding Aldrin was unclear.
Following the episode's airing, Duffy mentioned Kardashian in a post, emphasizing NASA's current moon exploration program Artemis and asserting, 'We won the last space race and we will win this one too.' Kardashian responded with curiosity about an interstellar object named 3I/Atlas.
Duffy later extended an invitation to Kardashian to visit the Kennedy Space Center for the upcoming Artemis mission launch. For decades, experts have discredited claims that NASA faked the Moon landings, reinforcing the mission's credibility.
