The investigation into the death of French streamer Raphaël Graven, who was better known as Jean Pormanove, has uncovered significant findings after an autopsy determined that trauma was not a factor. The content creator, celebrated for his live streams on the platform Kick, tragically died at his home in Contes, a picturesque village north of Nice, on Monday.
Clara Chappaz, a minister in the French government, expressed her horror at the incident, prompting the opening of a judicial inquiry to delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding Graven's death. Prosecutor Damien Martinelli announced on Thursday that medical examiners have reported that Graven's demise does not stem from any traumatic events or foul play, stating, "it was not traumatic in origin" and that there was no involvement of a third party.
Investigators discovered no severe injuries or burns on Graven's body, apart from several bruises and non-fresh lesions. The preliminary assessment suggests that potential causes of death may be related to underlying medical conditions, including a possible heart ailment and ongoing treatment for thyroid issues. Consequently, further medical tests are being conducted to ascertain the circumstances leading up to his death.
Recently, local news outlets have highlighted that the 46-year-old streamer had faced episodes of violence and sleep deprivation during his broadcasts, suggesting he passed away in his sleep while live-streaming. On Wednesday, prosecutor Martinelli reported that several individuals who were present during the incident have been interviewed by law enforcement. "Equipment and videos have been seized as part of the investigation to clarify the events leading to Graven's death and what might have led to it," he stated.
