March 31, 2025, London - Prince Harry revealed on March 25 his decision to resign from his position at Sentebale, which he established alongside Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in 2006. The move comes in the wake of a protracted dispute that has recently come to the forefront between the charity’s chair, Sophie Chandauka, and five trustees who have left their roles in protest.

The resigning trustees — Timothy Boucher, Mark Dyer, Audrey Kgosidintsi, Kelello Lerotholi, and Damian West — issued a joint statement expressing their loss of "trust and confidence" in Ms. Chandauka, who was appointed chair in 2023. According to their statement, efforts to call for her resignation were met with legal action from Chandauka aimed at preventing their removal from the board.

In their resignation announcement, the former trustees explained their difficult choice to step down, asserting that their aim was to sidestep the financial ramifications associated with the pending lawsuit, which they believed would burden the charity unnecessarily. They stated, "We could not in good conscience allow Sentebale to undertake that legal and financial burden and have been left with no other option but to vacate our positions.”

Both camps have submitted their allegations and related documentation to the UK's Charity Commission as the dispute escalates. The charity’s future direction remains uncertain as these developments unfold, leading to questions regarding its governance and operational efficacy going forward.
