Woman Pulled Alive From Rubble 36 Hours After Colombia Quake

A 32-year-old woman was rescued alive after more than a day and a half underground following a 7.4‑magnitude earthquake that shook western Colombia.

The quake struck at 07:34 local time (12:34 GMT) on Monday, its epicentre near San José del Palmar in Chocó province, and was felt across a vast area, registering shaking for between 90 seconds and two minutes according to seismometers nearest the epicentre. Official figures now record at least 188 deaths and a large missing‑person pool.
