HOUSTON (OnPoint) — A tornado has devastated a residential neighborhood outside Houston, resulting in damage to over 100 homes, according to local authorities. Fortunately, no injuries were reported after the storm struck.

The tornado hit the Memorial Northwest area, with images and drone footage shared by the Harris County Precinct 4 constable showcasing roofs stripped of shingles and debris obstructing roadways.

The Houston Fire Department responded quickly, deploying a saw team to clear fallen trees and other obstructions from the streets.

In light of the storm, the National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for southeastern Texas, including the Houston area, which will remain in effect until 1 a.m. Tuesday. Additionally, a severe thunderstorm warning has also been issued for parts of the region.
