JUPITER ISLAND, Fla. — Golf icon Tiger Woods was arrested Friday after crashing his car into another vehicle and rolling his Land Rover near his home. This incident adds to Woods' troubling history with driving offenses, marking at least the fourth auto-related incident he has been involved in and the second for which he's faced DUI charges.

At the scene, Woods displayed signs of impairment, prompting authorities to arrest him. He passed a Breathalyzer test but refused to submit to a urine test. Thankfully, no injuries were reported from the incident, according to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek.

Woods was charged with misdemeanors for driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.

The First DUI Charge

Woods' first DUI charge came in 2017 when police found him asleep behind the wheel of his car parked in a South Florida traffic lane, with damage to the driver's side. He stated he had mixed prescription medications leading to a bad reaction. He later pleaded guilty to reckless driving, was given probation, and mandated community service.

California Crash Nearly Costs Woods His Leg

In 2021, Woods was involved in a severe rollover crash in Los Angeles County. Investigators determined he was driving between 84 and 87 mph in a zone marked for 45 mph. He sustained serious injuries, including shattered bones in his leg, leading to surgery and extended rehabilitation.

At one point, amputation was considered a viable option for his recovery. After a long recovery, Woods made a comeback and played in the Masters in 2022.

Fire Hydrant Collision

Another notable incident occurred in 2009 when he crashed his Cadillac Escalade into a fire hydrant and a tree after an alleged marital scandal. At the scene, paramedics found Woods with injuries alongside his then-wife, Elin Nordegren, who reportedly broke a window with a golf club to assist him.

These incidents highlight a concerning pattern in Woods' driving history, raising questions about his well-being and future in professional golf.
