Six tourists and the pilot were killed when a helicopter crashed at Mount Ololokwe in central Kenya, air‑accident officials said.
The aircraft was a Eurocopter EC130 B4 on a scenic flight from Loisaba Wildlife Conservancy to the Ewaso Nyiro river.
The crash happened at about 09:13 local time (06:13 GMT) in Samburu County, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority confirmed.
Rescue workers were hindered by the site’s inaccessibility, but drones were deployed to assess the wreckage.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the passengers’ nationalities.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority and the transport ministry will lead investigations into the circumstances of the accident.
Helicopter crashes have been a recurring safety issue in Kenya, with past incidents killing multiple people, including a parliament member in 2022 and a military chief in 2024.
