A nighttime Russian drone attack on the Kyiv region has left at least 27 civilians dead and dozens more injured. Governor Tymur Tkachenko confirmed the death toll and cited additional casualties in Bucha and Boryspil districts, while 381 people were evacuated during search and rescue operations. President Volodymyr Zelensky extended condolences and noted other strikes across southern Russian regions. Ukraine’s army reported downing 233 unmanned aerial vehicles that night, underscoring the escalating intensity of the conflict.

Twenty‑seven people have been killed in a Russian drone strike on the Kyiv region, Kyiv’s governor confirmed on Saturday morning. Additional casualties included 42 injured people, among them four children, in attacks on the Bucha district, and a 14‑year‑old in Boryspil.

An estimated 381 residents were evacuated from affected areas, while search and rescue teams inspected damaged buildings early in the day.

President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed condolences, noting that more than 300 emergency responders had been dispatched. He also highlighted new overnight strikes across Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia.

Zelensky wrote to thank international partners for support packages and new sanctions, stressing that Ukraine cannot face these attacks alone.

Ukraine’s air defence reportedly shot down 233 Russian UAVs in the closing hours before Saturday’s dawn. The conflict’s intensity has escalated, with Moscow also reporting strikes in Russia’s Belgorod and Rostov regions where seven people were injured.
