Influencer KC Luxury Detained in Lagos After $28 Million of Cocaine Seized
A 49‑year‑old Nigerian social‑media influencer, known online as KC Luxury, was arrested in Lagos after Nigerian authorities found 184.5 kg of cocaine that was slated to be shipped to the United Kingdom.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said the drugs had been concealed in brown boxes at a courier facility earlier this week and were part of a global trafficking network that uses Nigeria as a transit hub to move cocaine from South America to Europe and Asia.
KC Luxury was stopped at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport while preparing to board a business‑class flight to Paris. Airlines officials reported that the influencer was carrying more than $12,840 in euros, pounds and Nigerian naira, along with expensive jewellery that the agency linked to proceeds from drug trade.
NDLEA head General Buba Marwa praised the operation as evidence of what can be achieved through international cooperation, promising that other members of the network would also be targeted.
A second suspect, 33‑year‑old Lawal Mujab Kehinde, is alleged to have worked for a logistics firm that transported the cocaine. He has not been charged yet.
