Matty Healy Marries Gabbriette Bechtel in Private Los Angeles Ceremony
The frontman of The 1975, Matthew Healy, and model Gabbriette Bechtel sealed their love story in a low‑profile ceremony Saturday in Los Angeles, a wedding that was limited to family and close friends.
The couple announced their engagement in 2024 after dating for nine months. Their marriage took place at Madonna’s former Hollywood Hills estate and was attended by close friends and fellow celebrities, including pop icon Charli XCX.
Bechtel, 28, posted a photo on Instagram showing a large black diamond ring on her ring finger, joking that “Marrying The 1975 is very brat.” Her posts highlighted the intimacy and celebratory moments of the day.
Healy’s mother, Denise Welch, an actress from the TV programme Loose Women, confirmed the engagement on a podcast, adding personal detail to the public storyline.
The 1975 have earned five UK number‑one albums, including their 2013 debut, 2020’s Notes On A Conditional Form and the 2022 release, Being Funny In A Foreign Language. The band announced an indefinite hiatus from live performances following last year’s Glastonbury headline act.
BBC reporters have sent letters to Healy and Bechtel for comments on the wedding, the couple’s future plans, and the band’s upcoming activities.
