Investigators have discovered DNA at the residence of Nancy Guthrie, the missing mother of US news anchor Savannah Guthrie, which does not belong to her or those in close proximity, according to local officials. The Pima County Sheriff's Department is working to determine the identity of the DNA but has withheld details on its location.
In addition, investigators located several gloves approximately two miles away from Nancy Guthrie's Tucson, Arizona, home. Guthrie, aged 84, vanished in the middle of the night nearly two weeks ago, and authorities believe she might have been abducted.
The sheriff's department clarified that reports of a glove found inside her home are inaccurate, stating that all collected evidence has been sent for lab analysis. The FBI recently released a physical description of a male suspect, approximately 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in tall, and identified via doorbell camera footage taken outside Guthrie's home.
The suspect was seen wearing a 25-litre Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack, leading to the receipt of over 13,000 tips, including 4,000 within just 24 hours of the footage's release. In light of ongoing developments, the FBI has upped the reward for information regarding Guthrie's disappearance from $50,000 to $100,000.
Authorities have also appealed to the public for additional video footage from the area, emphasizing Nancy Guthrie's need for daily medication and limited mobility. In their public pleas, Savannah Guthrie and her siblings have expressed hope that their mother is alive and have indicated a willingness to pay for her safe return.
