FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — A helicopter from the Arizona Department of Public Safety tragically crashed while providing support for law enforcement during an active shooter situation, resulting in the death of both the pilot and a trooper who served as a paramedic. The helicopter was on a mission to assist the Flagstaff Police Department and other agencies when the incident occurred on Wednesday night, as confirmed by Sgt. Kameron Lee in a statement.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been disclosed. Authorities are currently cooperating with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board to conduct a thorough investigation into the crash. Inquiries were sent to both agencies seeking additional details about the incident.
