The new season of dating show The Bachelorette has been cancelled following domestic violence allegations against this season's star, ABC has said.

The network stated that it made the decision to not move forward with the new season after footage of Taylor Frankie Paul emerged showing her in an altercation with her ex-partner Dakota Mortensen.

Paul, a TikTok influencer known for her role in Hulu's Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, was arrested in relation to the incident and has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault.

According to a spokesperson, Paul is prioritizing her family's safety and preparing to share her story.

Mortensen, the father of Paul’s third child, reiterated in a statement that he is focused on their son's safety.

A representative from Disney, the parent company of ABC, indicated that the cancellation came in light of the released video detailing the altercation.

The new season of The Bachelorette was supposed to premiere soon, with ABC not yet revealing what content will fill the time slot originally allocated for the show.

Prior to the cancellation announcement, Paul had appeared on ABC's Good Morning America to promote her season, discussing the allegations against her, noting that it was a heavy time for her.

Paul's experience on social media began within the #MomTok community, where young mothers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints connect through parenting content.
