TUNIS, Tunisia (OnPoint Info) — The Global Sumud Flotilla, an international activist organization aiming to provide aid to Gaza, claims that one of its boats was hit by what it believes was a drone while it was docked in Tunisia. Despite these allegations, Tunisian authorities have denied any involvement of a drone, stating they are investigating a fire that occurred on board related to a life jacket.

The specific vessel, known as the 'Family Boat' and operating under a Portuguese flag, reported no injuries among the crew following the purported attack. Footage shared by the group showed a flash of light hitting the boat, which subsequently led to a small fire outbreak.

The flotilla, which was scheduled to embark on its journey on Wednesday, has announced a press conference later today in Tunis to provide further details about the incident. Despite the setback, they insist that the occurrence will not hinder their mission to deliver crucial aid to Gaza.

In response to the allegations, the Tunisian Interior Ministry released a statement dismissing the drone attack claims as unfounded. Specialized security units have been tasked with the investigation regarding the circumstances surrounding the fire.
