In a shocking incident late last night, a Delta Air Lines flight traveling from Minneapolis to Toronto unexpectedly crashed, ultimately flipping upside down as it touched down at the airport. Fortunately, all 80 individuals onboard are expected to survive. Eyewitness accounts reveal that what initially felt like a typical descent swiftly escalated into panic for the passengers.
Among those onboard was Pete Koukov, a 28-year-old professional skier from Colorado, who was en route to Toronto to film a ski movie. Reflecting on the descent, he shared his experience in a recent interview, noting that everything seemed normal until the moment of landing. “As soon as the wheels hit the ground, the plane skidded on its right side,” Mr. Koukov recounted. From his window seat, he saw flames erupt as the aircraft collided with the ground. In a frantic attempt to escape, he quickly unbuckled his seatbelt and lowered himself, which was now the ceiling, to the floor as chaos ensued. He later posted footage on Instagram, showing him and fellow passengers making their way across seats to reach an emergency exit on the snow-covered runway.
Another passenger, Pete Carlson, a paramedic traveling to a conference, said that there were warnings about strong winds before the incident. However, the sudden crash jolted him out of the calm atmosphere he was in. “One moment, you’re preparing for landing, and the next, you're turned upside down, experiencing a jarring impact,” he shared with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
