Prosecutor Olivier Glady stated that the conditions of the discovery suggest a potential suicide, particularly given the presence of a rope hanging in the attic where the remains were located. Aloïs Iffly's disappearance had baffled authorities for years, with extensive searches failing to yield any clues. His wife occupied the house until her passing in 2020, after which the property was sold in 2023.
