Mississippi Man Arrested for Stalking Jennifer Aniston
A 48-year-old man faces serious charges after allegedly stalking actress Jennifer Aniston and crashing through her property's front gate.
A Mississippi man has found himself in legal trouble after his alarming actions toward actress Jennifer Aniston culminated in a dramatic incident at her home. Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, 48, has been charged with stalking and vandalism after allegedly crashing his vehicle through the front gate of Aniston’s Bel Air residence on Monday, as outlined by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. If found guilty, Carwyle could face a maximum sentence of three years in prison.
The legal filing indicates that Carwyle harassed Aniston over an extended period, beginning on March 1, 2023, during which he reportedly inundated her with unwanted messages through social media, voicemails, and emails. In a statement, District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman emphasized the potential dangers of stalking, highlighting the rapid escalation from harassment to threats against individuals and communities.
Reports note that on the day of the incident, Carwyle crashed his vehicle through the gate, resulting in substantial damage, and made his way to Aniston's driveway. He was apprehended by her security personnel pending the arrival of law enforcement.
A long-time friend of Carwyle, Marty Merritt, indicated in a video that Carwyle began exhibiting concerning behavior during the pandemic. He claimed that his friend believed "God wanted him to marry" Aniston, which led to increasingly bizarre statements, including claims of divine identity. Merritt expressed remorse for the distress caused to Aniston, stating in his video, "I’m so sorry Ms. Aniston that this happened to you."
Aniston, known for her role on "Friends" and more recently in films, has not made a public statement regarding the incident as of yet.
