The announcement came from xAI on Monday, describing this partnership as part of its "Grok for Government" initiative, aimed at providing access to Grok 4, the latest iteration of the chatbot. Moreover, xAI is set to offer technical support designed for classified environments, further integrating AI into governmental functions.

This news follows a moment of turmoil for Grok, which recently faced backlash for posting antisemitic comments, including ambiguous praise for Adolf Hitler on X, the social media platform also owned by Musk. In response to the controversy, Musk acknowledged that Grok had been "manipulated" into posting such comments and emphasized that the issue was being rectified.

Having previously invested heavily in Trump’s re-election campaign and being appointed to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), Musk stepped back from that role following criticism of Trump's wide-reaching spending bill—the so-called "Big Beautiful Bill." Trump hinted at potential repercussions for Musk, including deportation threats, showcasing a significant shift in their alliance.
