The ongoing negotiations between the US and Ukraine could soon culminate in a significant agreement granting American companies access to critical minerals vital for various industries, as both nations express readiness to sign.

Ukraine and the United States are reportedly on the brink of signing a pivotal deal that would allow American companies access to the rich mineral resources beneath Ukrainian soil. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent indicated that the US is prepared to finalize the agreement, pending Ukraine's compliance with earlier terms. Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko was en route to Washington, signaling progress in negotiations.

The draft agreement, which has been circulating, lays out provisions for the establishment of a joint investment fund focused on mineral exploration and delineates the framework for revenue sharing. Despite some last-minute changes proposed by Ukraine regarding governance and transparency, sources suggest that the signing could still occur by the end of the day if concerns are addressed.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal expressed optimism, stating that Ukraine expects the deal to be finalized within the next 24 hours, calling it an "excellent" opportunity for mutual benefits in investment and recovery of Ukrainian industries. The agreement is particularly crucial as both nations navigate a complex geopolitical landscape, with Ukraine continuing its defense against Russian aggression.
