Billionaire Elon Musk and Prince Andrew are named in new files released by Congressional Democrats that relate to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The files turned over to the House Oversight Committee by the Jeffrey Epstein Estate indicate that Musk had been invited to the financier's island in December 2014.
Separately, a manifest for a flight from New Jersey to Florida in May 2000 names the Duke of York among the passengers.
Musk and Prince Andrew have been approached for comment.
Prince Andrew has previously denied any wrongdoing. Musk has said that Epstein invited him to the island, but he declined.
The documents are part of a larger release from the Epstein estate, which includes phone message logs, copies of flight logs, financial ledgers, and Epstein's daily schedule.
In addition to Musk and Prince Andrew, the files also mention notable figures such as internet entrepreneur Peter Thiel and Steve Bannon, a former advisor to Donald Trump.
One record dated December 6, 2014, notes: Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?). Furthermore, a flight manifest shows Prince Andrew on a flight with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell in May 2000. Maxwell was convicted in 2021 for conspiracy related to Epstein's trafficking activities.
Another ledger entry mentions payments for massages for an Andrew in 2000, although it is unclear if this refers to Prince Andrew.
Recent entries also highlight planned meetings involving Peter Thiel and Bill Gates, who has modestly distanced himself from Epstein, calling their meeting a mistake.
All mentioned in the files are not accused of knowing about Epstein's criminal activities.
Epstein died in jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, after having previously secured a plea deal in 2008 related to similar offenses.
Democrats have urged the release of more related documents. Republican committee members argue that the Democrats are politicizing the issue.
