British rapper Yung Filly, known as Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, faced six counts of sexual penetration without consent, three bodily‑harm assault charges and a charge of strangulation at the District Court of Western Australia. He testified that the “vibes were good” between him and the 20‑year‑old woman after a nightclub performance in Hillarys, Perth. Filly denied inappropriate sexual contact, insisting he only placed a hand on her waist while claiming the victim initially consented to a relationship. The case is ongoing, attracting public scrutiny over celebrity accountability and the music industry's response to sexual misconduct allegations.

UK rapper Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, told a court that the “vibes were good” between him and a woman who accuses him of rape, after a nightclub performance in Perth’s coastal suburb of Hillarys in 2024.

The case was heard in the District Court of Western Australia, where Yung Filly, 30, faced six counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and a single charge of strangulation.

During his testimony on Monday, the rapper said he had “fancied” the woman when he first met her at the venue’s VIP area, and that when they met at his hotel the atmosphere was “good.” He denied committing any sexual wrongdoing beyond placing a hand on her waist, asserting that he had not touched her inappropriately.

Filly also claimed that any previous consensual sexual activity ceased when the alleged assault occurred, citing the woman’s insistence that he stop.

The 20‑year‑old victim has alleged that the rapper sexually assaulted her in his hotel room after the concert. Filly’s legal team argues that the accusations were untrue, alleging that the alleged incidents were misrepresented.

Yung Filly has been granted bail since the charges were laid. He exited Australia in September to return to the UK for four months before returning ahead of his trial.
