Several dozen people are presumed to have died and more than 100 injured following a fire in a ski resort in southern Switzerland, officials have said.
Police said several nationalities were likely involved in the New Year's Day fire, which happened at 01:30 local time (00:30 GMT) in the bar Le Constellation in the resort of Crans-Montana. It is being treated as a fire, and there is 'no question' of an attack, the region's chief prosecutor said.

How many people were killed?
At a news conference Thursday morning, police stated that 'several dozen' people are presumed to have died in the fire, with the Italian foreign ministry estimating around 40 deaths based on Swiss police reports.
With around 100 injured, many suffering from severe burns, the local authorities reported that most have been taken to Valais hospital, currently overwhelmed in capacity. Emergency responders included ten helicopters, 40 ambulances, and 150 personnel.
The identification of victims is ongoing, with local officials indicating it may take weeks due to the severity of injuries. French media have reported at least two injured individuals are French nationals, prompting solidarity from President Emmanuel Macron.
The UK embassy is monitoring the situation, confirming that consular staff are ready to support any affected British nationals.
