Tiger Woods has been charged with driving under the influence after a car crash in Florida, police say.
The Martin County Sheriff's Office said the 15-time major champion had also been charged with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
Sheriff John Budensiek stated Woods, 50, rolled his Land Rover after clipping a pressure cleaner truck on Jupiter Island on Friday.
The golfer had to crawl out of the passenger side of his vehicle but passed a breathalyser test following the crash, although he refused a urine test.
No injuries were reported from the incident, which occurred on Beach Road shortly after 14:00 local time (approximately 19:00 GMT).
Sheriff Budensiek explained that DUI investigators at the scene observed signs of impairment in Woods. They conducted various tests, and while they took into account Woods' previous injuries and surgeries, he was ultimately arrested and taken to the Martin County jail.
At the Martin County jail, we weren't suspicious of alcohol involvement and that was confirmed by the breathalyser test which showed triple zeros, Budensiek noted. However, when we asked for a urine analysis, he refused.
Woods was described as cooperative, although he seemed to try not to incriminate himself during the process. The sheriff mentioned that Woods has the right to refuse the test, but this refusal resulted in an additional charge without providing conclusive evidence of what impaired him at the time.
President Donald Trump commented on the incident, expressing concern for Woods, calling him a close friend and an admirable person.
Sheriff Budensiek indicated that Woods would remain in custody for eight hours before being released on bond. The BBC has reached out to Woods' representatives for further comments.
