At least ten civilians were killed and around a hundred were wounded when Russian ballistic missiles struck a drone exhibition near Kyiv on Saturday. The event, showcasing technology for targeting civil sites, was attended by officials from Ukraine’s defence sector.

The attack, which involved three ballistic missiles of which only one was intercepted, was part of a broader pattern of strikes. Earlier this week Russian glide bombs killed five people in the eastern city of Sloviansk and two others in Sumy.

President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the strike and said the Ukrainian government was investigating how the event could be safely organised, despite its public visibility. He warned that Russia could launch another massive missile strike “within the next 48 hours.”

Ukrainian forces meanwhile targeted a factory in the Russian city of Kirov and warehouses belonging to the online retailer Wildberries, aiming to disrupt logistics for the Russian army.

The incident drew international criticism over the security of public events, especially those related to weapons technology. The attack marked the third time a drone exhibition has been hit since the full‑scale invasion in 2022.

Key points:

  • Ten people killed, around a hundred wounded.

  • Attacked 3 ballistic missiles; one intercepted.

  • Follow-up attacks in Sloviansk, Sumy, Kirov and Wildberries warehouses.

  • Zelensky warns of possible further strikes.

  • Event marked the third drone exhibition casualty since 2022.

The broader conflict remains intense, with Ukraine conducting targeted strikes far behind front lines, while Russia continues to launch high‑precision missile attacks against civilian infrastructure and defence events.
