Canadian actor Kiefer Sutherland has been arrested after allegedly assaulting and threatening a ride-share driver in Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).

The incident occurred at 12:15 AM PST on Monday, where Sutherland reportedly entered a ride-share vehicle, physically assaulted the driver, and made criminal threats. Thankfully, the driver was not injured during the altercation.

Sutherland, 59, was released on a $50,000 bond following his arrest and is scheduled to appear in court on February 2. The LAPD has stated that the incident is currently under investigation by their Hollywood Division.

Known for his role as special agent Jack Bauer on Fox's hit series '24' and as the US president in 'Designated Survivor', Sutherland is the son of veteran actor Donald Sutherland. This isn't the first time the actor has encountered legal issues; in 2007, he spent 48 days in jail for driving under the influence, and he has been arrested multiple times over the years.

The recent incident took place at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. As this case unfolds, many are awaiting further updates from the LAPD and Sutherland's representatives.
