Dubai, UAE - Daniel Kinahan, a suspected crime boss with alleged links to organized crime, has been apprehended in Dubai. His arrest follows a warrant issued by Irish authorities related to serious organized crime charges.

Aged in his 40s, Kinahan was detained by local law enforcement on April 15, as part of extensive surveillance and search operations. The U.S. government previously imposed sanctions on him in April 2022, identifying him as a leader of the Kinahan organized crime cartel.

Kinahan was also affiliated with the boxing world through MTK Global, a management company that once represented over 100 fighters, including prominent boxers like Tyson Fury and Carl Frampton.

According to police reports, Dubai forces executed the arrest following a comprehensive judicial file provided by Irish authorities, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Kinahan’s extradition.

The arrest is a crucial milestone in addressing cross-border crime, underscoring the importance of international cooperation in law enforcement. An Garda Síochána (Irish police) confirmed they are aware of the arrest, while Dubai police noted their commitment to combatting organized criminal networks.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin expressed satisfaction regarding the successful extradition procedures between Ireland and the United Arab Emirates, indicating effective collaboration in tackling such serious criminal activities.

Kinahan's criminal history includes his recognized position in organized crime as noted in Dublin’s High Court, and his association with a violent feud that has resulted in numerous fatalities.

The arrest also demonstrates advancements in efforts to diminish the operations of organized crime families, reaffirming law enforcement agencies' commitment to uphold justice.
