BBC Verify investigates ICE agent’s gun‑pointing video

A woman shot a video of an ICE agent pointing a firearm at her car in Falls Church, Virginia, that has since gone viral. The clip was shared by Carolina Molina on Instagram on Thursday, drawing national attention to INS officials’ conduct.

Molina was on a delivery run for a local business when the Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers appeared outside her white Ford. The clip shows the officer’s uniform, the flashing badge, and a moment where the officer’s gun barrel points towards the vehicle. The officer reportedly tried to signal that Molina’s vehicle was a “hazard.”

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Inspector General released a statement saying Molina “attempted to harm officers by weaponising her vehicle.” Molina denies any such claim, asserting the officers were overly aggressive, especially after she had used a fake exit sign to verify her identity.
