At least one person has been killed and 10 people injured after a car crashed into a group of people near a train station in northern France, police say.
One person has been arrested and taken into custody after authorities launched a major emergency response in Caen, in the Normandy region.
The incident took place near a bar, and local media reported that a fight broke out there before the crash.
Social media videos from the scene show crowds gathering around police cars and ambulances, with a large area cordoned off.
A spokesperson for Calvados confirmed that four people, including the deceased, were being treated in a nearby hospital’s emergency ward.
Six others were receiving treatment for less serious injuries.
Detectives from Caen’s Specialised Crime Division are leading the investigation.
Residents have been advised to avoid the area around the Caen train station.
