Amsterdam’s canals light up in Pride boat parade

Boat parade on Amsterdam canals

On Saturday, Amsterdam’s festive canals hosted the WorldPride boat parade – a kaleidoscope of music, colour and community as 80 vessels glided through the heart of the city.

Thousands of revelers lined the waterfront, waving flags, dancing, and cheering as crew members decorated the boats in pride flags and elaborate costumes.

Police boats escorted the flotilla, enhancing security measures that followed the deadly attack at a Berlin Pride event earlier this month.

The event reaffirms Amsterdam’s – and the world’s – commitment to LGBTQ+ rights, celebrating unity and resilience amid ongoing security challenges.
