Rodriguez, 30, from Chicago, was allegedly seen pacing before he opened fire with a handgun on a group of four people, including the couple. Following the shooting, he entered the museum, where he was detained by police, reportedly chanting “free, free Palestine.” The Metropolitan Police Department is leading the investigation, with the FBI also looking into the case for possible links to terrorism or hate crime motivations.

The Israeli embassy expressed profound grief over the couple's tragic deaths.
