Five Arrested in Murder of U.C. Berkeley Professor in Greece, Including Ex-Wife
Authorities in Greece have charged five individuals, including the ex-wife of Przemyslaw Jeziorski, in connection with the professor's murder.
On July 4, Przemyslaw Jeziorski, 43, was fatally shot in Agia Paraskevi, a suburb of Athens. The Greek authorities revealed the arrests of five suspects last week, which include Jeziorski’s ex-wife and her current boyfriend, both facing charges of intentional homicide. The victim, a respected quantitative marketing professor at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and originally from Poland, was ambushed outside while interacting with his children and arranging future visitations.
Although the police has not released the names of the suspects, the attorney for Jeziorski’s ex-wife, Alexandros Pasiatas, firmly denied his client's participation in the murder and stated that no custody disputes affected the ex-couple. Conversely, the defense attorney for the boyfriend acknowledged that his client accepted responsibility for the murder, but did not provide further details.
Reports indicate that Jeziorski was shot multiple times, targeting his chest and back. As he traversed this legal maze concerning custody arrangements, the circumstances of his murder—amid family conflict—have raised numerous questions in this ongoing investigation, drawing public interest and media attention.
