The sale marks a significant moment in automotive history as Schumacher’s Ferrari becomes the most expensive car driven by him to be auctioned, trailing only behind the record-breaking sales of other F1 cars.

Michael Schumacher's Iconic 2001 Ferrari Fetches Record £13.43m at Auction
The legendary Ferrari F2001, driven by Michael Schumacher during his triumphant 2001 Monaco Grand Prix, sells for a staggering £13.43m at RM Sotheby’s auction.
The Ferrari that enabled Formula One icon Michael Schumacher to triumph at the 2001 Monaco Grand Prix has been auctioned for a historic price of 15.98 million euros (£13.43 million). The F2001 played a vital role in Schumacher's successful season, where he also claimed victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix and secured his fourth world championship title.
Auctioned by RM Sotheby’s just before this year’s Monaco Grand Prix qualification, the F2001 now stands as the most expensive car ever sold that was driven by the racing legend, who is currently 56 years old. This car also ranks as the fourth most expensive Formula One vehicle ever auctioned, falling short of the record established earlier this year when a Mercedes 'streamliner' driven by legends Sir Stirling Moss and Juan Manuel Fangio was sold for a stunning £42.75 million.
Prior to this auction, the highest bid for a car associated with Schumacher had been £9.75 million for his F2003 model in 2002. As Ferrari looks to replicate Schumacher's remarkable achievements from 2001 in Monaco this year, they found Charles Leclerc starting in second place, just behind McLaren's Lando Norris on the grid for Sunday’s race.
