The United Kingdom is on track to host the 2035 Women's World Cup as the sole valid bidder, as confirmed by FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The joint expression of interest submitted by England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland has received no competition, solidifying their position for the tournament.

UK Set to Host Women's World Cup 2035 as Only Official Bid
UK becomes the only valid contender for the 2035 Women's World Cup, according to FIFA President.
With the deadline for expressions of interest closing on Monday, Infantino stated that the UK's bid is the only one submitted thus far, while the United States is set to host the 2023 edition. "Today I can confirm as part of the bidding process that we received one bid for 2031 and one valid bid for 2035," he announced during a UEFA congress in Belgrade. "So the path is there for the Women's World Cup in 2031 and 2035 to take place in some great nations and further boost the women's football movement."
FA chief executive Mark Bullingham expressed the organization’s honor in being the sole bidder for the prestigious event. "The hard work starts now to put together the best possible bid by the end of the year," he emphasized.
Formal bids must be submitted by winter, with a decisive vote to take place during a FIFA congress in 2026. In addition, Infantino revealed that the 2031 Women's World Cup will expand to include 48 teams, up from the 32 participating in 2027. Should the UK's bid be finalized, the 2035 Women's World Cup would mark the second time the tournament is hosted in the home nations, following England's men's World Cup in 1966.
