Shakira Cancels Second Concert Due to Production Troubles

Colombian superstar Shakira has officially canceled her upcoming concert in Washington, D.C., due to complications arising from the stage issues encountered during her previous show in Boston, which was also canceled. The announcement was made by Nationals Park, the venue for the scheduled performance on Saturday, as part of the WorldPride festival.

In a heartfelt note, Shakira expressed her disappointment, stating that she was looking forward to connecting with her fans but was unable to transport her full tour production in time. The singer revealed that unforeseen circumstances stemming from the Boston concert led to the cancellation, saying she would do everything possible to reschedule. Live Nation, the entertainment company managing her tour, confirmed that structural problems identified during a routine check were responsible for the Boston show’s abrupt cancellation just moments before she was to take the stage. Shakira continues her North American tour, with a performance planned in Atlanta on June 2.
