Items belonging to Beyoncé's choreographer and dancer were taken, including hard drives with unreleased songs and show plans.
In a shocking turn of events, several items belonging to global music icon Beyoncé were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in Atlanta, days before her highly anticipated Cowboy Carter tour stop in the city. According to police reports, the theft occurred on July 8, just two days before Beyoncé’s first performance in Atlanta.
The stolen items included hard drives containing unreleased music, detailed show plans, and past and future set lists from the tour. The targeted vehicle, a rented Black Jeep Wagoneer, was being used by Beyoncé's choreographer, Christopher Grant, and dancer Diandre Blue, who reportedly left their belongings as they visited a nearby food hall. Upon returning, they discovered the rear window of the vehicle had been smashed, and two suitcases, housing sensitive information for the musician, were missing.
The police incident report highlights that among the stolen items were five jump drives containing watermarked unreleased tracks, laptop, designer apparel, and Apple AirPods. Authorities are actively investigating the incident, having accessed tracking information from the stolen laptop and headphones to trace the items' whereabouts. They also dusted the vehicle for fingerprints, recovering two faint prints, although it remains unclear whether the stolen items have been returned.
Currently, Beyoncé is in Atlanta performing as part of her Cowboy Carter stadium tour, which began on July 10 and is set to conclude with a show on Monday night. The tour has already drawn significant attention, with Jay Z making a surprise appearance during the third night of performances.
Christopher Grant, the choreographer, has an impressive portfolio, having collaborated with other notable artists, including Shakira, while Diandre Blue featured alongside Beyoncé in the 2024 Super Bowl advertisement that coincided with the release of two singles from her Cowboy Carter album. As fans remain eager for updates on the investigation, the outcome of this theft could have broader implications, signaling the importance of protecting artistic works in an industry often fraught with security concerns.
