A private tuition centre in the Kahna suburb of Lahore suffered a deadly roof collapse at 16:45 on 30 June 2026, crushing 14 children under the age of 10 and leaving five others injured. The incident occurred while the building’s tiles were being repaired, according to a resident witness who stated that the roof’s poor condition and additional weight contributed to the failure.

Within an hour, rescuers had cleared the debris and managed to recover the majority of the children, who were reported to be aged between seven and eleven at the scene. One ambulance was seen on the ground and the crucial fight‑back to life was successful for many of those held in the collapsed structure.
