Police are investigating an apparent homicide after two people were found dead at the Los Angeles home of director and actor Rob Reiner.
Firefighters were called to a house in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, where they discovered a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman, both pronounced dead at the scene.
While officials have not determined the identities of the deceased nor disclosed the circumstances of their deaths, it is known that Rob Reiner is 78 years old, and his wife Michele is 68.
Reiner is celebrated for directing classic films including The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, and This is Spinal Tap.
The Los Angeles Fire Department received a call for medical assistance at approximately 3:38 PM local time. Following protocol, robbery homicide detectives from the LAPD also responded, and have launched an investigation into the incident.
Upon arrival at the residence on Chadbourne Avenue, police found the two bodies, whose identities have yet to be officially confirmed by authorities.
Rob Brentwood is known to be an upscale neighborhood frequented by many celebrities. The details regarding the circumstances of the deaths remain sparse, leaving many questions unanswered.
A notable figure in television and film, Reiner, a former TV star who gained fame as Meathead in the popular series All in the Family, first married actress Penny Marshall, with whom he shares an adoptive daughter.
