The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) reported that it has destroyed a major Hezbollah underground base at Ali Taher Ridge, southern Lebanon.
The IDF said that more than 1,000 tonnes of explosives were used to blow up two tunnels that span over 2 km (1.2 mi) beneath the ridge.
The blast triggered seismic activity equivalent to a magnitude‑4.1 earthquake, seismic data from the US Geological Survey confirmed.
No immediate reaction was reported by Hezbollah or the Lebanese government.
The IDF described the complex as a strategic infrastructure constructed over two decades, funded by Iran and used for command, rockets, missiles, UAVs, anti‑tank weapons, mines and explosives.
According to the IDF, all fighting personnel inside were eliminated or fled.
The attack is part of a mission to destroy eight tunnels and establish a security zone in the area.
Israel has expanded its operations against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, continuing to hold roughly 5 % of Lebanese territory as a so‑called security zone.
Hezbollah has not directly accepted the ceasefire terms and rejects direct negotiations.
The strike marks the latest in a series of airstrikes in the region; casualties in Lebanon total 4,362 people, including 395 women and 259 children, while 40 Israeli soldiers and four civilians have been killed in the conflict.
